Record Crowd at Breakbulk Europe Conference
NEWARK, N.J., June 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 4,800 attendees and 200 exhibitors filled the Antwerp Exposition Centre last month in Belgium for the 7th Annual Breakbulk Europe Conference and Exhibition. The crowd was the largest yet for organizer Breakbulk Magazine and Events, which has been producing these industry-specific conferences globally for the past 23 years.
Breakbulk and project cargo transportation industry executives discussed the future of the multipurpose fleet, as well as compliance issues, challenges of transporting cargo into sanctioned regimes and shipper logistics management trends.
Keynote topics ranged from insights into the ramifications of new environmental regulations to a shipper forecast for the power generation market.
The Breakbulk team has been working very hard to expand the Breakbulk brand and market our events in new regions of the world. This effort is starting to show in the quality, quantity and diversity of attendance at our major events, including Breakbulk Europe exceeding all past records and marking our largest event to date, said Alli McEntyre, Breakbulk Vice President and Publisher.
Prior to the exhibition opening, Breakbulk Education Day and a specialized heavy-lift transport workshop provided more than 120 logistics students and industry freshmen with in-depth lessons on flat rack safety, rigging for lifts, and gap and risk considerations in moving oversize and overweight cargo.
UBM Global Trade's Breakbulk division organizes a trio of major conferences and exhibitions each year -- Breakbulk Europe, Breakbulk China and Breakbulk Americas. In addition, three two-day congresses have been added this year: Breakbulk Africa, Aug. 7-8 in Cape Town, South Africa; Breakbulk South America, Dec. 4-5 in Sao Paulo; and Breakbulk India, Nov. 20-21 in Mumbai.
