Red Arrow Logistics Honored by Seattle Business as One of Washington’s 100 Best Companies to Work For 2011

Bellevue, WA – June 17, 2011 – Seattle Business magazine ranked Red Arrow Logistics one of Washington’s 100 Best Companies to Work For 2011. The honor was announced at an awards dinner last night at The Westin, Seattle. This is Red Arrow Logistics’ first time on the list, which recognizes companies for setting the standards for leadership, benefits, work environment, innovative training programs, happiest employees and more.

“The companies on our 100 Best Companies To Work For list have created better workplaces by addressing such issues as communications, leadership and culture,” said Leslie Helm, editor of Seattle Business. ”As the economy recovers and competition for talent intensifies, these companies will have an edge.”

“The company’s growth has been amazing and it has only been possible because of the great team that supports my vision and delivers consistently for our customers,” said Liz Lasater, CEO of Red Arrow Logistics. “Red Arrow has been recognized for many growth awards, but this is the singular most important recognition we could receive. I wanted to create an organization that was healthy, customer-centric, and contributed in a meaningful way to our employees and community, and through this recognition I know we are on the right path.”

In order for a company to be considered, all employees had to complete an online survey about topics ranging from employee benefits to morale and extracurricular activities. Leah Davies, Senior Account Manager, a Red Arrow employee for five of its 8 years, nominated the Company and is enthusiastic about its selection. “I was with Red Arrow Logistics when it was out of Liz’s basement with only two employees and we just moved into our third office space,” said Davies. “Liz has grown the company so the employees feel part of the success. I really enjoy that we are still a small business and everybody works as a team regardless of job title,” Davies explains.

She also commented on how the employees are vested in each other outside of work. “Everyone has something we do for fun and we have all supported each other in our interests. I am a dance choreographer and co-workers have bought tickets to our performances, and others have gone to watch co-workers in soccer or softball tournament. I don’t know many other companies that do that!” Davies exclaimed.

Close to 25,000 employees of nominated companies filled out surveys administered by Seattle-based Gilmore Research. From the calculated research, a distinguished panel of judges chose the top companies. “For companies making the list this year, it was a particularly noteworthy accomplishment, given that the 2011 competition had by far the largest number of entrants in its 21-year history,” said Michael Romoser, associate publisher of Seattle Business.
