RedPrairie congratulates winners of the Avnet TechGames RedPrairie Supply Chain Challenge
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – RedPrairie Holding, Inc., a productivity solutions provider, congratulated University of California – San Diego graduate students Eli Reihman, Tony Nguyen, Jim Duvall and Chris Crouch today as winners of the Avnet TechGames RedPrairie Supply Chain Challenge. Held at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Ariz., the contest required over a hundred teams from colleges across the U.S. to manage a virtual supply chain involving manufacturing, distribution and forecasting from start to finish.
When asked to discuss the team’s strategy for winning the contest, the four students – who all attend UCSD’s Rady School of Management – explained that an effective solution for automation was key in planning the movement of their product from start to finish.
“Like with any effective business, our virtual supply chain was based on a system of efficient manufacturing, lean inventory levels, and precise calculation,” Reihman comments.
Nguyen adds, “Everyone on our team firmly believes that the future of effective execution lies in the strength of collaboration and technology. Companies can often measure the strength of their organization simply by gauging how well they know where their inventory is, where it’s going, and when they will need more of it.”
“The game gave us a lot of respect for what solutions like RedPrairie’s do in the real world,” Crouch concluded.
“RedPrairie sincerely congratulates all of the participants in this year’s RedPrairie Supply Chain Challenge,” says RedPrairie CEO Mike Mayoras. “We feel very strongly that future of effective business is in the hands of students like them.”
