Saddle Creek Adds Director of Business Development in Southern California

Lakeland, Fla., Oct. 12, 2010 - Saddle Creek Corporation, a nationwide third-party logistics provider, has added a new director of business development to support the company’s growth in Southern California. Scott Weiss will oversee the development of new customer relationships and maintain organic growth within existing accounts from the company’s Buena Park and Ontario, Calif., campuses.

“Scott will be a great asset to Saddle Creek as we continue to strengthen our presence on the West Coast,” said Stephen Cook, vice president of marketing and business development at Saddle Creek Corp. “His extensive logistics background, experience in the California region, and understanding of key vertical markets make him a valuable resource for our company, our customers and prospective customers.”

Weiss has 15 years of experience in supply chain logistics. Prior to joining Saddle Creek, he was director of North American sales for APL Logistics, responsible for global WMS/TMS business development. He has also held positions at Weber Distribution and St. George Distribution in Southern California.

Weiss holds a B.S. degree from San Francisco State University, an M.B.A. degree from California State University, Fullerton, and Global Logistics Specialist (GLS®) certification from California State University, Long Beach. He is actively involved in the Warehousing and Education Resource Council (WERC) and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).
