Lakeland, Fla., Aug. 21, 2012 – Saddle Creek Logistics Services has been recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Just released, the 2012 Inc. 5000 is an exclusive ranking of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the nation, based on percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. Saddle Creek ranked 3,809 on the list.

Based in Lakeland, Fla., Saddle Creek provides third-party logistics services, including warehousing, transportation, fulfillment and packaging. In recent years, the company has grown significantly and now employs more than 2,000 associates and operates more than 14 million square feet of space in 28 locations nationwide.

Over the last three years, Saddle Creek achieved more than 40 percent revenue growth. In that time, the company expanded operations for existing customers and added several new locations around the country, including Philadelphia, Chicago, Jacksonville, Fla., and a LEED-certified facility in Charlotte, N.C. In 2009, the 3PL extended its capabilities – and the company’s footprint along the West Coast – with the acquisition of a California-based third-party logistics company. In 2010, Saddle Creek grew its fulfillment service offering with the acquisition of a San Diego-based fulfillment company. Last year, Saddle Creek enhanced its transportation capabilities by investing in an environmentally friendly fleet that runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) to support customers’ sustainability initiatives as well as its own.

“Saddle Creek has experienced dynamic growth through the years, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, as a result of our service excellence and our responsiveness to the market,” said Saddle Creek president Cliff Otto. “We have expanded into new markets and industries and introduced additional capabilities to meet the growing needs of our customers. We’re very proud of our rapid and well-controlled growth, particularly in the recent economic climate, and honored to be recognized for our efforts by such a respected publication.”

The 2012 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2011.
