Lakeland, Fla., April 14, 2011 – Sam’s Club, the leading membership warehouse club, has honored Saddle Creek Corp. with two prestigious awards for outstanding logistics performance.

The nationwide third-party logistics provider earned the “2010 3PL DC of the Year” award for its operation of the Sam’s Club facility in Villa Rica, Ga. The award recognizes Saddle Creek as the highest ranking DC in the Sam’s Club network.

Saddle Creek also earned Sam’s Club’s “2010 Quest for Excellence” award for its distribution center in Hattiesburg, Miss. This recognition is awarded to the distribution center with the most improved performance. The Saddle Creek-managed facility is one of the newest in the Sam’s Club network.

Saddle Creek handles the consolidation and distribution of products to Sam’s Club stores through cross-dock operations. Both awards were based on an extensive list of metrics including service level, trailer utilization, and financial performance.

“We are proud of our success in meeting and even exceeding Sam’s Club’s performance objectives,” said Carroll Evans, Saddle Creek vice president and general manager. “Service excellence is a core value at Saddle Creek. That makes this achievement especially meaningful.”
