Savi Technology’s SmartChain® CMA Solution Certified as Powered by SAP NetWeaver®

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – July 7, 2010 – Lockheed Martin’s [NYSE: LMT] Savi Technology today announced its SmartChain® Consignment Management Application (CMA) software platform version 6.0 achieved SAP certification as powered by the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform[1]. SmartChain CMA integrates with SAP® solutions to provide a complete, automated solution that synchronizes supply chain planning and execution operations for defense, public sector and commercial customers. The certified integration enables Savi’s SmartChain CMA platform and applications for asset, shipment and consignment management to link supply chain visibility information in-transit and on-site with sophisticated operational planning tools. As a result, customers running SmartChain CMA together with SAP solutions can more quickly adjust their supplies and deliveries to changes in demand or situational requirements. In addition, SmartChain CMA linked to sensor-based data provides greater awareness of asset conditions and security status. Automated alerts report on unplanned events as they happen, and supply chain partners can share information when needed. “SmartChain CMA now integrated with SAP solutions helps bridge gaps among planning, inventorying, tracking and delivery processes, enabling more streamlined, predictable, responsive and cost-effective supply chains,” said John McFadyen, senior vice president of Savi Technology’s International Operations. “From NATO defense forces to commercial businesses like the oil and gas industry, SmartChain CMA is now enriched by this integration to provide an offering that drives even greater value throughout the full life cycle of physical assets as well as their management across the end-to-end supply chain.” McFadyen added that the solution is tailor-made to drive added value for the defense, aerospace, defense supplier, humanitarian relief, maintenance repair and overhaul and original equipment manufacturer sectors. Werner Felger, industry director, Defense and Aerospace Industry Business Solutions, SAP EMEA and India, co-presented last month with Savi Technology at the SAPPHIRE® Now conference in Frankfurt, Germany, on how SAP and Savi are cooperating to deliver an integrated solution to customers. “In addition to the certified solution, SAP and Savi are closely working together now to identify markets in military, commercial and humanitarian supply chains that require real-time asset tracking, consignment planning and execution capabilities – from the factory to the foxhole or from procurement to the point of consumption,” Felger said. The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that SmartChain CMA 6.0 successfully integrates with the SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI) offering to exchange critical data with instances of SAP Business Suite software. This was certified via the NW-XI-CNT 7.1 interface scenario. The solution leverages SmartChain CMA’s real-time visibility information from wireless tracking technologies and the SAP ERP application and Defense Force Public Security (DFPS) capabilities, resulting in better management of assets, shipments and consignments from procurement to consumption. Customers can also more effectively reduce inventories, cut transportation costs, proactively respond to delays or misroutes, increase velocity and improve both predictive and preventive maintenance. Further, Savi Technology has joined the SAP PartnerEdge™ program as an SAP software solution partner. Through the program, partners work closely with SAP to develop and certify the technical integration of their solutions with SAP software. Integrated partner applications extend, complement and add value to SAP solutions, thereby helping mutual customers more successfully meet business needs and drive strong results.
