(Berlin/Frankfurt am Main, June 9, 2010) Schenker Deutschland AG is the official logistics provider to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011TM, which will take place in Germany from June 26 to July 17, 2011. At the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup 2010 in Germany (July 13 to August 1, 2010) the logistics experts at DB Schenker will again provide the basic requirements to enable outstanding sporting achievements. We are delighted that the FIFA Organizing Committee has again entrusted us with its logistics requirements, after our performance at the 2006 World Cup, stated Dr. Karl-Friedrich Rausch, Member of the DB Mobility Logistics AG Management Board, responsible for Transportation and Logistics.

When signing the contract, Michael Korn, Vice-Chairman of the Management Board of Schenker Deutschland AG, commented: The U-20's competition will kick off just two days after the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Comprehensive preparations are already in progress at DB Schenker to ensure that both these events go off successfully next year.

As official logistics provider, Schenker Deutschland AG is responsible for the entire planning, control, execution and supervision of all material transports in connection with these two major sports events. Whether storage, distribution of freight to the different venues, import and export of consignments to and from places all over the world, inclusive of complex customs formalities, or training volunteers - the team at DB SCHENKERsportsevents guarantees that everything will go off smoothly before, during and after the two world championships. At the stadiums, teams headed by Schenker's own logistics managers will monitor the exact timing of all deliveries. To do so, the DB SCHENKER sportsevents specialists will apply a logistics concept that already proved successful during the 2006 World Cup in Germany and which is currently in operation in South Africa: every supplier who wishes to enter a stadium first has to report to a central office. This enables the logistics experts to direct the entire deliveries and thus avoid congestions and long waits.

Deutsche Bahn AG was appointed National Sponsor of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011TM in March of this year. DB enjoys a worldwide reputation for outstanding mobility and logistics services and for its great commitment to football, which it already underlined in its role of National Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 200 Information for photo journalists: Photos of the contract signing can be downloaded from photo database at www.bahnimbild.de at Current topics.
