Scott Holland Joins Navis as Vice President, Market Development for Intermodal Rail

OAKLAND, Calif. --(BUSINESS WIRE)--Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation and the global technology standard for managing the movement of cargo through terminals, today announced the appointment of Scott Holland as vice president, market development for Navis’ intermodal rail business. Scott joined Navis in May 2011, bringing more than 21 years of experience in intermodal rail terminal operating system (TOS) design, development and product management.

As part of the Navis team, Scott will focus on market strategy, existing customer relationships, and technology and automation integration. He will be responsible for expanding Navis’ rail TOS offering and customer base globally.

Throughout his career, Scott has served intermodal rail clients throughout the world, with a primary focus over the past decade on North American Class I carriers. Prior to joining Navis, Scott was vice president, intermodal at RMI, a portfolio company of the Carlyle group with a primary focus on short-line and regional rail train management systems and care hire accounting. He was responsible for management of RMI’s Intermodal Solutions division in Austin, TX, with direct oversight for product strategy, research, development, client services and project management for the OASIS and AutoTrack TOS as well as the Vantage Business Intelligence platform.

Prior to RMI, Scott held the development director position at Optimization Alternatives (purchased by RMI in February, 2008), as well as a variety of managerial and technical roles in intermodal TOS development. He was responsible for all aspects of software development and maintenance as well as product quality and technical staff recruiting and retention.

Scott graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS degree in engineering and a Master of Science degree in operations research with a focus on combinatorial optimization.
