MORRISVILLE, N.C. — North Carolina's reliable logistics partner for customized freight delivery, storage and inventory management, Extreme Express Logistics, has successfully completed a significant upgrade to its technology infrastructure to enhance its ability to provide critical and expedited delivery, reverse logistics, warehousing and order fulfillment.

As part of the upgrade, Extreme Express has integrated a state-of-the-art software system from Crown Data Systems to provide access to real-time information on freight.

"Being unencumbered by archaic technology, we are now able to better communicate to our customers and get done what needs to get done quicker without sacrificing quality," said Brent Smith, company president.

Improved document scanning and imaging to avoid paperwork snafus are part of the improvements helping the Extreme Express team communicate faster with each other and customers, Smith explained. Additionally, drivers are now able to better keep track of what’s going on with each delivery, thanks to better resources available to company dispatchers.

"Our advanced technology infrastructure, talented people, and delivery fleet of straight trucks and cargo vans have given us industry-leading shipping and fulfillment abilities," Smith said.

Once a new Extreme Express website is launched next month, customers will be able to get status updates on their freight deliveries -- which will include when the freight is recovered, delivered, and who signed for it -- online 24/7.

The technology upgrade project began in early 2012 in part as a result of a review of internal processes to better serve freight and third-party logistics companies, retailers, corporations, small businesses, and consumer-oriented businesses looking for help with their logistics supply chains.

"The long-lasting business relationships we enjoy with our customers are based on communication, trust and accuracy, which we apply to our cost-effective transportation delivery and warehousing processes," Extreme Express CEO David Sardinha said, adding, "These relationships require that we constantly look for ways to improve our resources, including major investments in our physical plant and staffing."

Extreme Express Logistics manages over 90,000 square feet of TSA-compliant warehouse space, with multiple storage and dock locations in Morrisville, Raleigh, Apex, Durham, Fayetteville, Wilmington, Greensboro and Charlotte. For more information, visit www.extremexpress.com.
