Washington, DC – The following is the statement of House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman John L. Mica (R-FL) on the status of the House-Senate conference on surface transportation legislation:

“I remain hopeful that we can reach a bicameral compromise with the Senate. However, I am disappointed in the fact that Senate negotiators have yet to move significantly on key House reform proposals. In addition, the Senate leadership appears unwilling to compromise at all on the Keystone XL pipeline. I will confer with our House conferees tomorrow, who have been directly involved in the negotiations, to discuss the status of the transportation bill conference.”
