STTAS-Brazil to Host Reception for Van Andel Global Trade Center's Trade Mission to Brazil

DETROIT, Mich. — Sandler and Travis Trade Advisory Services-Brazil will be hosting an evening reception May 14 for participants in a trade mission being conducted by the Van Andel Global Trade Center at Grand Valley State University in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The weeklong mission, taking place May 12 through 17, aims to help Michigan businesses expand export sales to Brazil, the world’s seventh-largest economy. It will feature networking with academic, business and government officials, introductions to Michigan organizations already set up in Brazil, and opportunities for cultural and seaport tours.

“We are very pleased to be supporting the efforts of the Van Andel Trade Center, the MEDC and Michigan Lt. Governor Brian Calley to create and grow opportunities for Michigan businesses in the global marketplace,” said STTAS Vice President Kevin Smith. “This event and other efforts are great examples of how the people and institutions in the state of Michigan are working diligently to create a new and bright future for the state. STTAS is very pleased that it can contribute in some way to their efforts.”

The May 14 reception will feature a presentation by STTAS-Brazil Executive Director Cesar Finotti, STTAS-Brazil Business Development and Trade Advisory Manager Flavio Siqueira and STTAS-Brazil Supervisor of Marketing and Sales Anahi Bertechine. The presentation will focus on STTAS-Brazil and its capabilities in the global trade and compliance industry, along with highlighting the process of importing into Brazil.

“STTAS has built a solid relationship with Michigan businesses over the years, and this trade mission is an extraordinary opportunity to extend this relationship into Brazil,” said Bertechine. “We are excited to show them the initiatives Brazil has been developing to attract new foreign companies and investment through local incentives.”
