The Journal of Commerce Expands Asian Editorial Coverage and Event Programming

NEWARK, N.J. — The Journal of Commerce has announced the addition of Annie Zhu, Asia editor, to the JOC editorial and event programming team. Based in Shanghai, Zhu will contribute editorial coverage for The Journal of Commerce magazine and JOC.com and contribute to expansion of its Asia conference programming, as well as extending the JOC brand in China and throughout Asia.

Zhu will work closely with the U.S. events team to develop the program for TPM Asia, the largest container shipping event in Asia, which this year will take place on Oct. 16-17, in Shenzhen, and she will assist the JOC content team to expand its Asia coverage.

Most recently brand manager/editor of PPI China at RISI, a JOC sister company in the forest products sector, Zhu has more than 10 years of experience as a finance and commodities reporter and editor in the U.K and China. She joined RISI´s Shanghai office in 2007, covering features on the pulp and paper industry in Asia for its website and PPI magazine, and helped launch the Chinese publication PPI China in 2009. Prior to RISI, Zhu worked as a commodities reporter and news editor at the Interfax news agency in Shanghai, Financial Times in London, Shanghai Media Group, and as a contributor for CNN World Report. She holds a Master of Arts from Bristol University in the U.K. and a Bachelor of Arts in international journalism from Shanghai International Studies University.
