The MPA Now Represented in Europe
Montreal, July 25, 2011 – Since July 1, Italian shipping agency Medov has been representing the operations of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) in Europe. Headquartered in Genoa, Medov is responsible for promoting the Port of Montreal among European shipping lines, shippers, importers and exporters. Its mandate covers the container and cruise sectors. Medov has been operating in Europe for more than 60 years.
“We are really pleased to be able to count on an agency that is so experienced and recognized in Europe to promote the Port of Montreal’s outstanding competitive advantages for container traffic between Northern Europe and the Mediterranean on one side and Central Canada and the U.S. Midwest on the other, and also to make the case for cruise lines to choose Montreal as a destination,” stated Tony Boemi, Vice-President, Growth and Development at the MPA.
It is an honour to be associated with the Port of Montreal, the best intermodal gateway to reach Central Canada and the U.S. Midwest from North Europe and the Mediterranean. Our agency is committed to using its extensive network of contacts in Europe with the objective of reinforcing its current success story, added Giulio Schenone, Medov's Chairman.
