Singapore, 30 March 2011 – TNT, one of the world’s leading express integrators, was voted by customers as the “Best Life Science Logistics Service Provider” at the 2011 BioPharma Excellence Awards in Singapore. The BioPharma Excellence Awards, held in conjunction with the 4th Annual BioPharma Asia Convention 20111, recognise the commitment of companies to improving service excellence in the field of life science within Asia.

Michael Drake, Regional Managing Director of TNT Asia Pacific said, “It is a great honour and achievement for TNT to be voted by customers as the best life science logistics service partner. This is a strong vote of confidence in TNT. Our dedicated and experienced healthcare supply chain team has gone beyond being just a provider to become a true value-added partner to our customers’ business.”

TNT’s solutions for the healthcare industry include a suite of services that support drug discovery, clinical trials and product development to the regional and global distribution and storage of pharmaceutical products, medical devices and diagnostics.

TNT’s Life Sciences Express Hub in Singapore is the nerve centre of TNT’s healthcare regional distribution and cold chain management solution. TNT enables healthcare companies to base their logistics hub in Singapore and leverage on its extensive air and road network to reach their customers in the region within committed delivery times. For instance, TNT’s own Boeing 747 freighter flies three times a week between Singapore, China and Europe. TNT’s air network is also connected to TNT’s unique Asia Road Network, the region’s first fully-managed and operated scheduled road express freight service route that stretches across 6 countries and 127 cities from Singapore through to China.

By providing end-to-end supply management solutions, TNT’s healthcare regional distribution approach eliminates the need for clients to maintain multiple warehouses in various locations, resulting in several benefits such as reduced inventory holding costs and improved customer satisfaction.

A healthcare industry case study by TNT in the medtech arena show that TNT’s customised supply chain solutions shortened delivery times by more than eight times. This was achieved through the centralisation of the company’s inventory in TNT’s Singapore Life Sciences Express Hub. The products were then distributed to 13 countries (in the Asia Pacific region) by a combination of TNT’s air and road network.

In 2009, TNT became the first express integrator in Singapore to receive the Good Distribution Practice for Medical Device (GDPMDS) accreditation. Awarded by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), this certification recognises the compliant quality standards of TNT’s healthcare service solutions.

TNT remains committed to developing their healthcare portfolio and is continuously innovating to ensure customer satisfaction.
