Toll Global Forwarding appoints new Germany sales head
Toll Global Forwarding (TGF) – the fast-growing international logistics and forwarding division of Australia’s Toll Group – has further strengthened its German operations with the appointment of Stefan Testi as Sales Director. Testi began his logistics career at chemicals and pharma giant Hoechst, before moving into the industry itself – where he has spent over 20 years in a variety of senior posts with leading companies including Kombiverkehr, Danzas, DHL and Atege. In his new post, Testi will manage a team of 10 sales staff covering Germany, and will focus on further accelerating TGF’s recent growth – particularly emphasising its key markets of the Middle East, Australasia and USA. Says TGF’s MD Germany, Cédric Faivre: “Since September 2010 we have invested heavily in additional operations and sales personnel. We enter 2011 with a larger and even more impressive staff resource that will enhance service standards for our existing customers, and support our ambitious growth plans. “Stefan Testi’s appointment adds significantly to our sales power. The trend in our business is now very positive, and we intend to maintain this new momentum with the addition of further business capabilities such as perishables.” TGF Germany has bases at Düsseldorf, Frankfurt (main air hub), Hamburg (main ocean hub), Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart. TGF’s German expansion echoes its growth strategy across the entire EME region: the company recently acquired WT SeaAir and Genesis Forwarding in the UK, multiplying its existing business ten-fold. It acquired Dubai-based LDS in 2009, adding substantially to its Middle East presence. The company also launched new operations in the Nordic countries and Baltic States in October 2010. About Toll Group The Toll business was founded by Albert Toll in 1888. Commencing his transporting company in Newcastle (two hours north of Sydney NSW Australia), Albert and his team began by hauling coal. The business grew and then expanded into diversified mining and manufacturing industries. The growth of the business in the 1960's led to Toll commencing international freight forwarding services. Our involvement in this sector of the supply chain was prior to the introduction of sea containers and wide bodied aircraft. In 1986 Toll was sold to a management buyout team, led by current Managing Director Paul Little and Toll's first Chairman Peter Rowsthorn. Toll was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in 1993 and has been a high-performing growth share from this time. Since listing on the ASX, Toll has progressively built and grown its unique logistics model in response to increasing customer demand for a complete end-to-end logistics solution. These solutions incorporate the critical components of operational expertise, scale, diversity of services and technology capabilities. Toll Global Forwarding (TGF) is one of the Toll Group’s fastest-growing divisions. Following a string of acquisitions, TGF now has offices in 58 cities across Asia, Australasia, Canada, the Indian subcontinent and South Africa. Its European and Middle East (EME) operations span a further 40 cities.
