AMSA has a long history of assisting the motor carrier industry in complying with federal statutes that affect interstate carriers said Linda Bauer Darr, AMSA President and CEO. This is a natural extension of our service and we are pleased to have this opportunity to partner with TIA.
The regulations of the FMCSA (49 USC 13304) require that each broker must list process agents in each state in which they have an office and in which they write contracts. The process agent serves as the carrier's statutory agent in each state where they have interstate operating authority; they act on the carrier's behalf to receive notice of any legal actions that may be filed against the carrier in the state for interstate shipments that are transport to, from or via that state. AMSA has a network of attorneys across the country that fulfills the process agent requirement
