KANSAS CITY, MO – On August 4, TranSystems of Kansas City, Mo., and Rahimian Management and Consulting, Inc. (RMC), of Santa Ana, Calif., closed on a merger of the two firms. RMC brings additional expertise in program management, planning and design of roadways and bridges to TranSystems’ architectural, engineering and planning line of business. TranSystems also provides management and supply chain consulting; real estate consulting; and security services to public agencies and businesses across the entire transportation economy.

“We are delighted to bring a firm on board that delivers such valued services to the public and private sector in this important part of the country,” said Paul Malir, President of TranSystems. “RMC’s services are exactly in the sweet spot of clients needs.”

RMC was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Santa Ana. The firm has significant experience working with numerous municipalities; Orange County Transportation Authority; Riverside County Transportation Commission; Caltrans Districts 7, 8 and 12; Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange counties; and other federal, state, and local agencies. They bring an extensive knowledge base and familiarity in working with Caltrans design policies and procedures.

Tony Rahimian, principal of RMC, said “we are very pleased to join TranSystems, it’s a great company and we look forward to contributing to its success. The transaction will enhance our combined ability to serve existing and new clients in Southern California with an expanded array of services. This includes not only highway and bridge work, but heavy rail and passenger rail as well. In particular, TranSystems now has a unique opportunity to expand its reach into the West Coast in a meaningful way.”

TranSystems’ States and Municipalities practice, the largest in the firm, brings solutions to the state, municipal, and private sector markets in the areas of highways, roadways and bridges. The practice incorporates not only the planning, engineering and architectural disciplines fundamental to infrastructure design, but includes services in the consulting management arena such as innovative financing; design visualization; demand forecasting; and land use, environmental, and security planning. It has established a national reputation in bridge design, inspection, and repair.

Brian Larson, CEO of TranSystems said, “This merger brings a wealth of advantages to both firms but above all to TranSystems’ and RMC’s clients. We’re proud to be able to make this fine firm a part of the TranSystems family.”
