Trucking Executive Elected Vice Chairman of U.S. Chamber

ARLINGTON, Va., June 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce named John Ruan III as its vice chairman for 2010 in a June 9 election by the board. Ruan is chairman and CEO Ruan Transport Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa.

Outside of the transportation business, Ruan is director, chairman, president and CEO of bank holding company BTC Financial Corporation and serves as chairman and director for the bank subsidiary, Bankers Trust Company NA.

Ruan also serves as director of Hubbell Realty Co., Iowa Business Council, Greater Des Moines Partnership, Downtown Community Alliance and Chief Executives Organization. Ruan received his B.S. in Business Administration from Northwestern University, and is a graduate of the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
