Union Pacific Announces Finance Department Appointments

Omaha, Neb., April 4, 2011 – Union Pacific announced the following finance department promotions, effective April 1.

Jennifer Hamann has been appointed general auditor. Hamann has 19 years of experience at Union Pacific, most recently serving as assistant vice president - Investor Relations. Prior to that, she held positions in the company’s corporate audit and human resources departments. Hamann earned an MBA from the University of Nebraska Omaha and passed the CPA exam. She succeeds Jim Hale, who retired.

Michelle Gerhardt has been appointed assistant vice president-Investor Relations, succeeding Hamann. Gerhardt has more than 21 years of experience, most recently serving as general director - Financial Analysis. Prior to that, she worked in the company’s corporate audit, human resources and accounting departments. Gerhardt earned an MBA from the University of Nebraska Omaha and passed the CPA exam.

Todd Rynaski has been appointed assistant vice president-Financial Reporting and Analysis. Rynaski has more than 15 years of experience at Union Pacific, most recently as general director - Information Technology where he led the company’s SAP financial systems implementation. Prior to that, he held positions in revenue accounting, cost accounting, capital budgeting and corporate audit. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Rynaski graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha. He succeeds Jerry Gose, who retired.
