Union Pacific Railroad Announces Operating Department Appointments

Omaha, Neb., October 28, 2010 – Union Pacific Railroad has announced the following Operating department appointments, effective Nov. 1.

Shane Keller has been appointed senior assistant vice president-network integration and scheduling, based in Omaha. Keller will be responsible for leading the company’s Service Design organization, which includes continuing to improve the network transportation plan. Since joining Union Pacific in 1990, Keller has held a variety of operating leadership positions, most recently as assistant vice president operations-Northern Region.

The following assignments to superintendent-transportation services positions are effective Nov. 15: Lance Hardisty, superintendent-transportation services, El Paso, Texas; Rod Doerr, superintendent-transportation services, St. Paul, Minn.; and Mike Brazytis, superintendent-transportation services, San Antonio. Superintendents are responsible for safe, efficient and on-time transportation across their service unit’s territory.

Hardisty joined Union Pacific in 1991. He has held numerous operating management roles, including terminal and dispatching positions, and superintendent of transportation services-St. Paul, his most recent assignment.

Doerr joined Union Pacific in 1992 and has held a variety of leadership positions in the Supply and Mechanical departments. Most recently he served in director roles for mechanical maintenance, terminal operations and transportation services.

Brazytis began his career in the Missouri Pacific Railroad’s Engineering department in 1980. His previous experience includes assignments as track inspector and dispatcher, and general director of crew dispatching. Most recently, he was a superintendent at Omaha’s Harriman Dispatching Center.
