UPS appoints key roles in Healthcare & Contract Logistics for Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE, July 3, 2013 – UPS (NYSE:UPS) has announced three new appointments to enhance healthcare and contract logistics practices in Singapore and Australia, as part of the company’s strategy in strengthening capabilities across Asia Pacific. The appointment of Chetan Talcherkar as the Healthcare Warehouse manager of UPS Australia, Greg DiNatale as the Contract Logistics operations manager of UPS Australia and New Zealand and Mike Tan as the Supply Chain and Healthcare Logistics senior manager of UPS Singapore.

Healthcare and contract logistics have been focus areas for UPS, with an established network of facilities and world-class technology to help customers reduce costs and increase global reach. “UPS has a long-term vision of strengthening our healthcare and contract logistics capabilities in Asia Pacific to provide best-in-class solutions to our customers. In terms of healthcare, UPS has invested significantly in the expansion of the Asia Pacific healthcare distribution network. The appointment of Chetan Talcherkar as the Healthcare Warehouse manager of UPS Australia will maintain high quality standards of the UPS Healthcare Warehouse Operations in Australia, steering quality and process initiatives, productivity improvements and ensuring operational success. Prior to his current role, Chetan was responsible for leading and managing the Supply Chain operations, including contract logistics operations for UPS Supply Chain Solutions in India.

UPS investment in the area of contract logistics will be enhanced by Greg DiNatale’s appointment as Contract Logistics Operations manager of UPS Australia and New Zealand, and Mike Tan as the Supply Chain and Healthcare Logistics senior manager of UPS Singapore. They will oversee all aspects of the Contract Logistics business in UPS Australia and Singapore respectively. Part of their portfolio includes providing support for new Contract Logistics solutions in their respective geographies.

Tan will manage and provide strategic direction for operations managers on all Contract Logistics related issues across five warehouses in Singapore including the Singapore healthcare distribution center. DiNatale will manage and optimize efficiency of eight warehouses across Australia and New Zealand, including the healthcare facility in Sydney which opened in third quarter of 2012.
