Why: Secretary LaHood to visit Port of Oakland to mark the $15 million TIGER federal funding of the Port’s rail development as part of the overall City/Port $500 million Oakland Army Base redevelopment , which will maintain the Port’s global competitiveness, support job retention and growth, and drive positive economic impact for the region, state and nation.
