VIT goes live with Versiant LYNX Customer Service Portal

When APM Terminals sold their Elizabeth River terminal last summer to Connecticut-based Alinda Capital Partners and British firm Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd., there were a number of transitions that needed to take place. One critical to Virginia International Terminals (VIT), the new terminal operator, was replacing the on line demurrage and assessorial charges payment system used by APMT. VIT selected Versiants' LYNX Customer Service Portal (CSP) that seamlessly integrates with the Navis SPARCS/Express and N4 TOS. "We needed a solution to the challenge of providing a new payment system for some of our customers," said Joseph P. Ruddy, chief innovation officer for The Port of Virginia. "The solution needed to be economical, seamless and, most importantly, user-friendly given that we were transitioning from a system that had been in place for years. We migrated to LYNX CSP system six weeks ago and have had much success with it."
