Voith Turbo Continues U.S. Growth with Three New Employees in Rail Division

YORK, PA – Voith Turbo has recently made three key hires within its Rail Division sales department, expanding its presence both at its headquarters in York, PA and in the western United States. Voith Turbo’s hires are the latest in a line of North American expansion activities, as its Road Division recently opened a Hybrid Power-Train Development Center for transit buses near San Diego, CA. Voith Turbo’s Rail Division specializes in gearboxes, hydrodynamic drives, and coupling systems for trains and rail systems.

The new hires in the Rail Division are James Pontious, who is the western sales manager based in Colorado Springs, CO; Bill Willauer, who is the Aftermarket Service Manager based in York; and Randall Mitzelfelt, who serves as Sales Manager and is also based in York.

“We are very excited about our new hires within the Rail Division,” said Kevin Simms, who is Voith Turbo’s Vice President for the Rail Division. “Our expanded sales staff helps us better serve our customers in North America, especially those in the western United States. Our new employees will help Voith Turbo’s Rail Division provide even better hands-on customer service as we continue to market our state-of-the-art technology for the rail industry.”

James Pontious is the new western sales manager for Voith Turbo’s Rail Division and is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this new position, Mr. Pontious focuses exclusively on sales in the western United States. Mr. Pontious brings fifteen years of sales experience to the position and was most recently in the information technology industry. Mr. Pontious has worked for seven years in passenger transit rail and freight rail sales.

Bill Willauer is the new service manager for the Rail Division. Mr. Willauer has spent his entire career in sales and marketing in the gear and mechanical coupling industry. In the late 1990s, Mr. Willauer served as product manager at several subdivisions of Voith Turbo’s industrial group. In his current position, Mr. Willauer will serve the service needs of existing equipment and seek new opportunities for product introduction in the US market.

Randall Mitzelfelt is a sales manager at Voith Turbo’s North American headquarters in York, PA. Mr. Mitzelfelt has extensive managerial and sales experience in both York and the mid-Atlantic region, most recently serving as Vice President for Operations at ASG, Inc., a consolidated graphics company.
