Werner Enterprises Unveils Third Freedom Truck

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 11, 2014-- Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ:WERN), a premier transportation and logistics provider and award-winning military friendly employer, added a third truck to its Operation Freedom fleet and handed the keys to Immanuel Odongkara, a 20-year Navy veteran.

In his two short years with Werner, the native of Uganda, Africa, has already made a name for himself. In 2013, Odongkara was named a top 10 Rookie of the Year finalist at the Great American Trucking Show. Prior to Werner, he traveled with the military as an aircraft mechanic.

Werner developed the Operation Freedom program in conjunction with the White Houseveteran campaign and introduced its first truck, Freedom 1, in February 2013 and Freedom 2 the following May. Known as Freedom 3, the military-themed wrapped truck will travel with Odongkara on his regular freight routes. The truck also will be showcased at truck shows, recruiting events and specific veteran ceremonies to bring awareness to Werner’s industry-leading military apprenticeship program.
