WFN Speeds Past Milestone of 200 members in 100 countries

World Freight Network (WFN) has recently sped past a respectable milestone of approving the applications of over 200 independent cargo agents in more than 100 countries. This makes WFN one of the world's leading networks of privately owned freight forwarders.

Since the network was established in 2004, membership has increased at a steady rate as independent forwarders recognise the benefits of joining WFN to develop new business and promote their company services to the global marketplace.

Managing Director, Kelly Bunyan says “It is no secret that networking is the single most powerful marketing tool for freight forwarders, and the recent impact on the global economy means that it is more important than ever to make the right connections and build enduring, mutually beneficial relationships. I’m proud to say that over the past 7 years, WFN has proven to operate as a fantastic catalyst to ensure our successful applicants meet the “right” people and companies to expand their business in markets all over the world. In the freight forwarding industry it is not just about who you know ... but who knows you!”

WFN enables family owned businesses to be closely connected to more than 300 offices worldwide, and at the same time, work under the safety of a strict set of membership rules.

The WFN management team now includes new Network Manager, Debbie Constantine who brings with her extensive experience in both air and sea freight and specialist knowledge of several transport markets and routes, including the East African market. The WFN team are now working towards the next milestone, which through their high standard membership policy, instant access to the latest online networking technology, is easily attainable.

Debbie adds Since joining the WFN Headquarters, I can see that Members appreciate the strong leadership; which is among other things, what WFN offers above competing networks. Also, we are not as large as WCA or some of the other networks out there. This works in our favour, as we don't need payment protection schemes like their networks do; we believe in the establishment of a trusting network, whom will show respect for one another. We are not so large that we have no idea who is who. Our MD, Kelly’s policy is that we do not introduce more than 30-50 new members a year, so that all of the new members can be appropriately greeted at each Member Meeting.”

WFN prides itself on being a pro-active network and is currently affiliated with many of the industry’s top trade exhibitions and conventions including SCL Asia, Intermodal Europe, Cargo Facts 2011, Global Retail Supply Chain Summit and many more.

When asked their reasons for joining, Mr S. Sitaram of Balaji Mariline Pvt Ltd (India) stated “Since joining, we have been able to develop aggressive business with various partners in the network. Today, many of the members of the group are not only business associates but personal friends as well. Kelly and her team have given a forum that is tightly run, with ethical values and great interpersonal relationships.”
