Other Brazilian ports could overtake Santos in concession race

The tender process for nine new port concessions at Santos, the largest container gateway in South America, is so complicated that it may take a year to resolve the differences between various factions. That will likely allow tenders for other “simpler” ports may move ahead of it in the queue, said Robert Grantham, a director for the ShipConsult consultancy based in Navegantes.
